Kids Acts of Faith


The Bible comes ALIVE
for children as they learn about Bible characters, heroes  and stories of faith in a setting of theater arts.

Wednesday's
6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Grades K - 6

Children will learn about Bible characters, heroes and stories of faith in a setting of theater arts. Part workshop and part rehearsal for presentation, evenings will include several elements of dramatic production such as: Script and scripture memory, monologues and short plays, acting (stage presence, articulation), stage make-up, costumes, set design etc.

Children will enjoy the evening’s atmosphere of learning with interactive theater games and exercises incorporating stories of faith, in preparation for presenting to family and friends. Recognition, including patches, will be given to students who participate regularly.

Theater Games and Exercises
Theater games help children activate the creative portions of their minds, role play difficult emotions, learn to trust and cooperate with one another, and to better understand themselves. It is also a lot of fun and a great chance to work out some physical energy in a positive way.

COST: There are no club dues or charges for this ministry. We may ask for donations to offset costume and production costs as we approach performances.
A Message from Director Alan Baker

Hello. I am currently the Family Life Pastor at SonRise Bible Church. I have been involved with theater arts and music for thirty plus years. Previously, as Artistic Director for Daystar Players, Sheltering Dove Theater and Grand Canyon National Park summer programs, I have produced plays and workshops through all areas of dramatic production.

I love kids and creatively introducing to them the messages of Faith, Hope and Love that we find in God’s Holy Word. My wife Tracy and I are truly excited about “Acts of Faith” for kids. We hope to see you on Wednesday nights as we deliver God’s word from the page to the stage.
